TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
When teachers have their completed paperwork ready for tuition reimbursement, normally they send it to their principal or supervisor first, and then it goes to Casey Shorter.
Because of the COVID-19 situation, members should just send all paperwork to the BOE offices, to Casey's attention.

Horizon BCBSNJ is removing out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 in-network care - 4/3/20
To help ensure you get the COVID-19 care you need, when you need it most, the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP)/School Employees' Health Benefits Program (SEHBP) through Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is removing out-of-pocket costs for all care related to COVID-19. Previously, Horizon BCBSNJ announced that you would not pay any copay, coinsurance or deductible for the diagnosis, evaluation and testing of COVID-19.
The removal of out-of-pocket costs (copay, coinsurance and deductible) for SHBP/SEHBP members, now includes covered benefits associated with the treatment for COVID-19 for inpatient and outpatient care when provided by an in-network doctor or hospital. This is retroactive to March 1, 2020 and through at least June 30, 2020.
In addition, through June 30, 2020, you will not pay for covered services, including diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19, routine care, therapy or mental health care when provided by your in-network doctor – whether by video, telephone or chat – or Horizon CareOnline, Horizon BCBSNJ's telemedicine platform.
You can also speak to a Horizon Health Guide at 1-800-414-SHBP (7427) who can connect you to a registered nurse or behavioral health program for free. Registered nurses are available 24/7, and can help you understand the symptoms related to COVID-19, and help with other health concerns.

Inspired by David M. Aderhold and the Garden State Coalition of Schools’ “283 Questions about School Reopening”, this document is a crowd-sourced list of questions and concerns NJ school staff believe must be answered in order to ensure the safety of educators and students. While we recognize that administrators are dealing with a myriad of issues, they are not the ones who will interact with dozens to hundreds of students each day, often in schools with no air conditioning, poor ventilation, and more. All of these questions come from school staff who interact with students on a daily basis- teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, and other staff with constant student contact. We hope that the NJDOE and Governor Murphy will rethink the plan to allow local districts to make decisions and will instead create a statewide plan (as they have for all other Covid-19 related issues). There is no reason districts should be left to answer these questions individually.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Below is a message from Christin E. Deacon, Assistant Director Health Benefit Operations, Policy and Planning, regarding the above referenced.
The New Jersey Division of Pensions & Benefits (NJDPB) has created a COVID-specific resources page that compiles all of the various resources available to our members during this time. Not only is there coverage information for SHBP/SEHBP, but additional behavioral health resources (e.g., Joyable –digital mental health solution available to members at no cost with one-on-one coaching and a personalized eight week BH program), wellness resources (e.g., Wellbeats – complimentary membership to at-home fitness video and content), and other important information from our carriers (Horizon and Aetna) and Pharmacy Benefit Manager (Optum). We are onboarding additional behavioral health, wellness, and telemedicine capabilities for our members and will be updating the website on a daily basis. Please share with your constituency and use these resources!

If you have any feedback or would like for us to explore additional ways in which we can serve our members in the SHBP/SEHBP, please reach out to Meaghan Dunfee (Meaghan.Dunfee@treas.nj.gov) with subject line "SHBP/SEHBP COVID Resource Request."
Finally, please make sure to follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/njhealthbenefitprograms/ Here you can find more valuable resources for our members, stay up to date on new wellness programming and other pertinent information as we weather this crisis together. Thank you in advance and I hope you are all staying safe and well.
